I have a 96 DOHC neon and the fuse for the fuel pump(yellow one in engine compartment)Blows. Use to every now and then but now it goes sometimes as quick as backing out of the drive way. Any ideas? Is the fuel pump going bad and doing it? What fuel pump do I buy? It seems that I have an odd ball cause it has the plastic tank and only 2 lines coming out not 3

check all you wiring from front to back then maybe its time for a new fuel pump if you dont find anything. maybe try unpluging the fuel pump and turning on the key and seeing if it blows then still if so i would say wiring

Yeah I thought wiring too. I checked and covered any and all I saw frayed from top of motor to back of car. So will the aftermarket Walbro fuel pumps work on my car since I have the plastic tank????

Yes, the Walbro pump will work.

Did you also check the upstream O2 sensor wiring? It can ground out and cause the fuel pump fuse to blow.

Putting in the garage today probally get it up on stands and check the O2 wiring one more time just incase than it's off to jerking the fuel pump out I guess.
Between this and the crank sensor problem I had I never get to drive it lol

I ask the walboro question cause its like $110 versus the factory replacement ones $240(plus they have to order but if it's the steel tank it was in stock, figures) so why not go better?? Have to wait on part either way
