dynomax
I got my dynomax put on the other day. 1st of all it was a pain in the *** tryin to find the right adaptor for 2 1/4 to 2 1/2. it needed to be 2.5 OD and 2.25 ID i couldnt find those sizes any where. so i had to get an adaptor that fit the closest and crancked down the clamps had small air leaks but i'll get some exhaust tape for it. but any way it seems too quiet. how do i get it louder. do i have to get a tip for it?
An exhaust wont be loud without a real intake. Like the Iceman. I had my dynomax before the Iceman intake and it was a little deeper but nothing great, when I put on the intake however it made that thing roar. 1st time I pulled up to my house after taking the new intake for a spin I gunned it down the road and my sister said "Is that Chris" and my dad just goes, "Naw thats too loud, sounds more like a motorcycle" lol. When I got home he asked me to take the thing for a spin which was funny seeing him crawl into my car.
well an intake doesnt make your exhaust louder per se. the sound you heard was the intake itself. i dont mean to insult your intelligence if you already knew that, i just wanted to make sure you didnt think the intake makes the exhaust end louder.
I may be reading your response wrong but an intake sounds more like a sucking in windy sound. I put the intake on and my dynomax became louder. I could make you a vid to show you the diff w/ the intake on/off. See before my dynomax was like eh, not loud and only a little more deep. With the intake more air is now going through my dynomax and the dynomax now becomes louder. Again, maybe I don't get what you are saying but an intake won't make a deep throaty sound, thats the dynomax, and my dynomax did that after i put on my intake. My friend had a similar situation with when he put on his intake, his exhaust now sounded louder.

an intake won't make a deep throaty sound,
an intake won't make a deep throaty sound,

and i dont think ive ever hear an exhaust get louder from having an intake
I dunno, maybe we are both talking about the same thing lol but our wording is diff. So are you saying that if I took my dynomax exhaust off, put back on the stock dohc exhaust and left the iceman on my car would sound pretty much the same? When I gun my car after putting on the iceman I heard the sound coming from the back of my car, and under my hood I can hear air being sucked into the intake. I guess i am not sure really what you guys mean.

idk i gotta AEM intake but it does draw the air off the top of the exhaust manifold. but the dynomax is a little louder and much deeper. but its just not all that loud. and yea i hear a deep sound from the engine like its commin from the intake. i kno that b4 wen i had the stock intake on i couldnt hear it suck in air and it did sound a lil deeper after the intake. but ne way what should i do to get it to sound better.
