Ibought a set of Crane Cam off Ebay over a year ago - I just broke them out this week and is trying to determine if they are Crane and which Model Crane Cams I have for my DOHC Engine. Of Course I did not print out the EBay auction with the details.
How do you determine if they are Crane and which Model Crane - I am sure they are basic Cranes like a #10 or #12
If I put them on the table with my factory stock - they look very similiar in shape & Size
The only thing different about these cam are the color of the metal of the Cam - my factory stock are plain metal where these ones off Ebay have copper tint to portions of the cam
Any help - as Always - is appreciated!!

Again you are right - they are hard to read - but some cleaning and a magnifing glass I was able to get these characters off of each CAM - I tried a google search on the numbers - but no luck
Crane CAM CHR 242-6 Intake 180-30-01
Crane CAM CHR 242-6 Exhaust 180-30-01

Thanks Spud
If you had to guess - or if you know - what kind of gain off of a stock motor would the Cams add?? Ball Park!!
on a side note - how in the heck to you get the CAM Seals on??? I can get the Seals started - but I can not get them all the way seated - even tried to bolt on the Cam Gear - but it does not go back far enough to seat the Seals.

i really have no idea what kind of gain you would look at..... i have a set of #14's that are going in my car and i would like to know what they would do me as well...
as for the cam seal:
i use a few different methods that i use......if you have a big enough socket, you can try to put it over the end of the cam and get it to rest on the seal...then just lightly tap the socket with a hamer...
or
use a center punch and tap the seal into place
either one work fine

Thanks Spudsterier
I don't have a socket deep enough - I tried tapping it on - I got it on over half way - let it sit over night and try again this afternoon.
My Next question I was going to ask was there a different cam seal for the Crane - My New seals fits my original cams - they were a tight fit - but are alot easier then these Crane's
Might try to sneak over to a Dyna next week and see what my stock little baby is going to do
