CAM Question - which is better
Well I know it might be kinda off topic but along the same lines...
What is a good cam for a SOHC Automatic where I wont have to change springs and mod anything...what lift specs,duration...ect...ect I'm not sure what is best for these little motors.
I'm looking for a cam that would be great in apowerband between 1500-5600 RPM as the engine never seems to go over 5500RPM with the automatic. Also what kind of gains should I expect with a cam like that?.
Thanks

SOHC engines are limited to what cams they can run due to the construction of the head. Instead of the typical cam cap setup, the SOHC head has solid cam journals machined into the bulkheads on the head, and they are pretty restrictive on cam lobe sizing.
The only cam you can slide in without changing the springs would be the 95 cam. You would need to upgrade your springs to Magnum springs with the Magnum cam.
