Default CV joints?

i know nothing about CV joints (cept what they do) and on my Neon (red one) when i'm going i can hear and feal a rotational grinding noise. its gets worst and worst as i speed up. now then, i thought it was the tires or something but as i was driving her tonight to make sure everything was fine...i noticed that the sound stopped when i turned to the left or hit the brakes (hard and soft on the brakes). could this be the CV joints?

its not the cv joints, your left front wheel bearing is junk. it needs to be pressed into the hub, so just suck it up and take it to a shop.

Cant you just replace the whole hub? If not, I may be able to get them pressed for you, we have a industrial press in the shop... No gurantees though, plus shipping would not be worth it, I am currenty in Ft. Lauderdale

Take the hub assembly off, go buy a new bearing and take it to a shop. Make sure the shop has a press to press them in, of course.. The shop I took mine to charged me like 20 bucks... so yeah, not bad

Oh yeah, and after your going to need to get an alignment too...

take the whole steering knuckle in.....you can replace just the hub, but it still needs t be pressed in...
now if the bearin is really bad, then the hub will need to be replaced instead of just the bearing..
usually costs me about $10 to get mine done...but i hope to buy a press soon so it wont cost anything for the job

yea...lol. i made my first comment on like 4 hours of sleep lol. i'm thinking about just getting the hub replaced anyways. but question, can u put in used hubs in it? cause i have a friend who parts out Neons and if he has one then i could just buy one from him for like 30 or so instead of the 70 at Autozone.

Yes but can you be sure it is any better than what you have, and if it is, how long will it last
