I'm from the other side, 2nd Gen forum cuz I have a 2004 SE... but had a question on (pretty sure) 1st Gen factory sport style wheel option?

Saw a Neon the other day, pretty sure it was a 2 door, white with what looked to be factory alloy wheel option, they were 5 spoke white wheels... search the web and this was the closest I could find, in a pic..

Just wondering if these are the factory sport option for this year (95,96,97?) and if they are are they at least 14 inch?... do they have a name?... ws just looking for other options on my 2004, I know everyone wants to upgrade to bigger wheels, custom aftermarket...and was actually going to get some 17 inch white 7 or 8 spokers off e-bay, but it just seems I never have enough money, ...(right now I'm just running facory black 14" steelies with trim rings and chrome lug nuts! [:@]) thought maybe these would be a neat alternate, as well as a cheap alternate, if I could look some up at a salvage yard or maybe someone has some lying around for cheap? (Need white!)
..oh, and they look to be 5 bolt, are they still 5x100 like the 2nd gen Neons so they would fit?

 

they were 14x6, only wheels ive ever seen on a sport or sport coupe.
there were 2 other styles of aluminums, R/T chrome and some other ugly things that resembled the bubble hub caps
5x100
1st and 2nd gen wheels are interchangeable

BTW you could find a set and paint them white, ive only seen them in aluminum finishunless they were on a white neon.

 

Thanx man!...yea, pretty sure those are the ones... so only white Neons had the white ones...

..and 14x6 Sport option alloys... I'd really like to find them already in white, but at least it's a start...I know I'd probably have to get new tires, so that's not a problem....

so anyone have any?...otherwise, I guess it's off on a quest... I'll probably spend so much time finding a decent set, that I will have enough time/money to buy the 17's....

 

i dont recall ever seeing white ones, i just heard that some white neons came with white wheels.
i would check at a junk yard and get a set, then paint them up nice.
i have 4 sets of them, but theyre all beat to hell from racing.

Oh and there increasingly getting rare.

 

thanx again, yea those are the ones..getting rare..figgers... think I will snag the picture and see if I can do a quick-y photoshop and see what they would look like on my car....

...I'm pretty sure that white one I saw with those wheels lives in my neighborhood somewhere... maybe I can track him down and offer to trade wheels plus $100 bucks or sumthin....

must be rare...i dont think ive ever seen any 1st gen stock white or chrome rims....only the greyish color
