ya but my point is that the kybs will hold up fine running over 120 in a straigt line, im not doing 300 laps at 155, im going maybe 130 for 30 sec... untill the turbo goes on then whos knows what a neon will do...

 

and y the hell did you load a pore neon like that...

 

I hit 120mph+ down a bigcountryhill while the rev limiter went crazy and cut out at 118mph. I also think the PCM after 105mph makes the car run like crap so you don't hit 118 faster.I think this because I can haul *** after 2nd gear shifts at 92mph and still accelerate damn fast up to 105 thenacceleration startsto slow down and then 115+ takes a mile to achive,right when it hits the power band the other gears enjoy around 3500 rpm. Really annoying.

Don't get me wrong 115mph is fkn flyin' in a Neon and it was down right scarey even though the car handled great but it would be nice if the PCM didnt bog it down once you get into the enginessweet spot so you can test what it can do and say you hit 120+...lol, I was ****ting myself hoping the tires would hold up. I had 10 minutes to make it accross town for a movie 3 days ago and I ran my SOHC Neon up to the rev limiter 2x flat out on the levelhigh waythen I backed off to 80mph as I got a mile from the Theatre. Made it in time! cars goin' 80mph looked like they were standing still at 115mph+....lol very scarey though.

 

what a chicken slash i have gone 166mph in a r33 gtrthat makes any thing look still after that going 120 is easy i just don't do that in these cheap'o carsi would have gone faster but the cop scaner beeped so after i was done peeing i slowed down lolturned out he made the beeping sound with his cell phone[:@]

you get what you pay for with anything it's just not safe to mess with the suspension just get the real stuff.apc lights don't light up as much as a lot of brands yet they are made the same

my friend hadjust got a imported r33gtr and living in a very rural area he came out and let me 'test drive' it and one thing lead to another andthat was the scareyest thing i have done yet it wasdumb but very fun last time i go that fast for a looong time. by cheap'o cars i ment the neon can't handle 120 plus it will break it might not brake untill 130mph but it will break. i got to say the skyline was hard to shift because i had to use my left hand to shift im not use to that andi don't go over 80 any more way to risky.if you can't beat someone by 60 just give up.

i would sure as hell hope so with all the money in the suspension of this thing....

im not very nice to any of my cars....i love driving fast, and beating the hell out of these cars....and the r/t lasted more then 80,000 miles.....and, about 20,000 of them were at more then 100mph....

oh and i used to load that much weight in my car because i had to for work......every sunday for almost a year.....and the konis were still like new when i stopped driving the car on sundays since i went out and bought my durango and used it instead

 

Neon can not handle 120+??? - There is only one track that I get close to 130 and that would be Daytona in a good draft!

Thats odd -because at most tracks I hit 120+ two to three dozen times on a race weekend in my Factory Stock Neon!

Granted I do rebuild my engine every 6 to 12 race weekends!

But lets look at another statistic - ansingle race day(Practice, Qualify, and Race) on a factory stock engine is considered the equivilant of a 1 year normal wear and tear on the average car. Unfortuneatly I don't have a link or anything to this statistic - but this is what Mechanics and Fellow racers tell me!

 

I hit 118mph and the rev limiter and thats pretty close to 120mph and the car didnt fall apart. And Mines stock with a full trunk and tool box...lol
