i had to go pick up my dad...and it began to rain really hard and i could barely see the road...and then i drove through a huge puddle and it bogged my car down...and now it doesn't like to idle. when i put in the clutch it dips down to 500rpms and then it either dies or jumps back but mostly dies. i got it home and popped the hood and the engine bay was covered with water. could that hold the problem? the coil was dry but the pcm had a little water on it but it was mostly dry as well.

 

The PCM should be fine...the inside has a gel all around it to protect it. Some of your sensors/electrical connections need to dry out.

I could not get my car to go over 50mph in the straight away because I would loose traction!

If I have time tonight I will try to capture some onboard video - you can hear my engines rev up and the car start floating as the tires spin out of control!
