Default steering wheel removal gone bad?

aye well i got the puller from autozone and as i was pulling it was REALLY hard. and then all the sudden something snapped. the threads in the wheel that the two bolts go into, got completly stripped. so now i can use a puller to get it off. any idea's on how i should try and get it off now?

I don't think you want to do it this way but i had tooka dremal tool and cut the wheel off. Or you can also just replace the steering colium with another one.

You can just change entire steering coliums then. i dunno if it makes a difference but the horn buttons are in a different location in 95. 96-99 are in the center and 95's are on the sides.

ill give you one to try, one, you need an old nut from another car, screw it on the center shaft till its FLUSH with the shaft., pull as hard as you can on your steering wheel, and have another person hit the end of the shaft with a hammer HARD. it will usually knock the wheel loose, the nut will stop it from flying off and hitting you in the face.
you gotta be carefull you dont beat up the threads on the shaft, thats why you use a different nut to beat on.

BTW use a big hammer, not a little girly nail tapping hammer, something heavy that hits hard.
one good hard hit should do the trick

I was going to suggest the same thing man. I think I have only used a puller on a steering wheel once in my life, I find a nice dead blow hammer solves the problem. and leaves no damage or marks. I have this one from Harbour Freight..

At $6.99 no tool box should be without one.

they do look different. but its because i think the owner before me really liked to grip his wheel cause the current wheel is crap. like literally. at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock its worned down to the metal.

Drill and retap the threads. You will then have to find 2 screws to use, as the ones that Autozone provides won't be of any use now. We had to do that on my nephews RSX when we swapped dashes.
