My low end power is below average most likely because of the automaticssuper high 1st gear, what kind of upgrade/s will get me good off the line power? below 2500Rpm for get it. idle to 1500RPM is feels like it would have ***** but then it kinda jacks off till 2500Rpm

If I could get the car off the line quicker I could win most any race, I was neck and neck with a damn somewhatbuiltS-10 off the line and he had a fender on me and he was laughing and all this b4 I could get into my powerband [&o], now I'm pist....lol

it doesnt need much just a little push!

Ever thought about swaping to a mtx

 

You have a 98 Sport neon based on ur sig? I thought those came with the DOHC. What would really help you is a mtx swap, so if ur tranny is near the end of its life or u got some spare cash that's something to consider. Though neons are so cheap I'd probably sell the auto, get a manual and move over the performance stuff. I got my neon for $700, DOHC MTX w/ a 99 recently swapped engine (kid blew the old one) having 50,000 miles on it, also new clutch, brakes and some extra bonuses like 00-02 R/T rims, performance tires, 5-point racing seats, and mopar pcm.

When I put it on the ramps it seemed like it slipped a bit trying to get up. Is the clutch pedal and all that stuff hard to swap over?I'm thinking about a 5 speed swapnow, can somebody make a check list for the parts I would need to complete the swap? i'd appreciate much!. I really like everything about my Neon from the blackcolor to interiorand I don't want to sell it I'd rather build it up : ) the auto might be on its way out so if and when it goes i will swap for the 5 speed for sure!

Does the Neon block bolt up to a tranny from a 19902.2chrysler turbo car? I can't get a good look at the bolt patern on mine cuz its covered by lots of wireing and fuse box. The reasonI ask is I have a 5 speed tranny from a 2.2 car and I'm wondering if it interchanges?.
