radiator overflow boils after shutoff, i keep loosing water and overheating, help!!
hi.. i've got a 96 neon sport (plymouth) with a 2.0 sohc mitsubishi engine. recently, i've been having some overheating problems due to loss of water level in the coolant system, always a few thousand miles apart though. i've always noticed that when i shut off the engine, the overflow tank bubbles from air venting from the cooling system, and i've been told that these engines are plagued with this issue. is there a known cause that can be easily fixed or remedied? should i just remove my thermostat (which operates properly by the way)? is the gas that bubbles out of the radiator my coolant level boiling down? or are the overheating due to water loss and the bubbling seperate issues. thanks for all the help. sorry to post thsi if it is a duplicate, but i couldn't ge tthe search button to respond. thanks again

i got he search tab to work finally, so i got to read some previous posts about this issue. i'm going to try replacing my rad cap first since they get such a bad rap, and then if i still have my bubbling problem, iu'll look into the hoses. thanks
