i need to get a new muffler for my 99' neon sohc. i need some advice on what to upgrade to. also, should i have them re-do my exhaust pipes with stainless, because the one on there now is lookin pretty shotty.
Im not lookin for super high performance, just a few h.p. and a nice sound.

Jegs has the Thrush Turbo mufflers for $20. and then the DOHC muffler is also a cheap alt.

 

im willing to spend a little more than 20, so lets hear some suggestions

 

i herd cherry bomb muffflers are good. they ar 20 also

 

the Dynomax muffler is good. the flow master 40 series i've heard can well...be ticket worthy lol. and Borla also makes a nice sounding muffler. for the rest of the exhaust. if u want to replace it. just buy a cat-back. and if u want a catback dynomax has one, so does Vibrant and Pacesetter...go to modernperformance .com. they have some pretty good prices.

 

i've heard hte pacesetter ones aren't that great and neither are cherry bombs, sound too ricey [:'(]

 

the pace setter header is fine for the SOHC but on DOHC their junk. as for their catbacks...i have no clue.

 

i know about the headers are the best for SOHC but i heard the catback is horrible

 

If you are lookin for just a muffler I would go with Thermal R&D or you cango to www.howellautomotive.com

 

only go to howell if u like waiting 6 months for your part to come to you.
