1998 Neon 2.0 DOHC misfiring?
Any known fixes, supposedly the number 2 cyl. is misfiring, I took it in a few months ago paid outragous price as I am stationed in the U.K. it came back the same so I have replaced the Plugs, wires an the Ign coil/ distributer thing, what is left to fix? I read that these cant be timed so now what? it drives like it is a Geo Metro ( 3 cyl.), bad idle and start-up and acceleration.... it is just over 100,000 should I replace the timing belt?... any ideas would greatly help for me to avoid paying the local shop to fix nothing and charge me for it... the error code is 43, 43 which is multi / single misfire... yakdady@hotmail.com... It could be a bad spark plug. Pull them and check for oil on the threads. If so, you should replace your spark plug tube seals. Misfires can be bad plugs, wires, coil pack, fuel injector, clogged fuel rail and so on. Can you get it scanned and get the "P" code to narrow down the misfire?

I got it scanned a while back before I replaced the Plugs, Ign coil pack and wires, it came up as cyl #2 misfire, so if none of these things that I did to fix it worked, soI have to look at fuel injector or fuel rack? Anything I can do myself?... never had oil on the plugs jus slight black soot an all smell of fuel... Thank you for your responce...Yamas
