I was wondering if the airbags on the steering wheel and dash were interchangable from 95-99? My car is a 95, and I have a person wanting them for a 98. The cars look identical inside, but wanted to make sure. Thanks

 

You can't swap a steering wheel airbag into the dash or vice versa, but all 96-99 airbags are swappable. 95's steering wheel airbags are different.

but u can swap the dash airbag. the only way to swap the steering bag is to swap steering wheels.

 

oh well i took the arbag out of the steering wheel, and I left the steering wheel in it and had the car crushed. oops wish I had known that. So the dash airbag will work in all the dash's from 95-99, andthe air bag in the steering wheel is only 95 unless you swap the wholesteering wheel?

 

since we are on the topic, i have a quick question. i was wating and waitng at a stop sign for a chance to turn. i got mad waiting there for so long so that when i got a chance to go it took it and did so quickly. i peeled out a lil and and had it floored all the way into 3rd gear. when i turned on to the road there was an immediate stop light so i had to stop. as i was slowing down i noticed the airbag light come on. is that ok i was leanin over the center console in case it deployed. and that happened one other time i had just started the car and drove down the road a lil ways and noticed it was on then it soon went off. is that ok what causes that.

 

there is probally a loose connection......

and yes, in order for any other year neon (96-99) to use an airbag from a 95, you would have to swap the steering wheel as well
