Default Anyone ever have a maaco paint job

Has anyone every had a maaco paint job and been happy with it? My friends brother used to work for them and said the actually do a decent job, however everything I have read about them says to stay away from them. Anybody got any thoughts about it?

for $250 who cares if it only lasts 2-3 years. then just get a new one. i called them the other day and they said it should look professional and last for a while. maybe it would be better than the "enviromently friendly" crap they put on it at the factory.

The saying, "you get what you pay for" comes to mind when thinking about a Maaco paint job. If you plan on selling the car in a year or so, go ahead and get the cheap paint job. If you want to keep it for awhile, get it done right.

I had a friend that had his convertable painted by Maaco several years ago. The paint job on the metal turned out fine, it was the red overspray on his black top and tires that turned me off of them. Obviously poor lazy prep work from this shop, others may be just fine. I always felt you get what you pay for. If you decide to do it, I would make sure that their prep work is right. Lastly, for the price, I don't think they pull trim or weatherstripping. I could be wrong, but i don't think so.

yeah, one of my friends i knew in high school got a job with them and they barely sand the surface to rough. and they rarely get close enough to the molding during sanding(buffing) so there is like a 1/8/-1/2 inch unsanded gap around all the seams and ridges so the paint wont stick good and i am sure you have seen cars with flakin paint at the edges of the moulding. they do not remove anything from the car ( worried they will break it and have to replace) its all ghetto tape and paper. and they have a huge problem with complaints about overspray on tires, windows, trim, etc. also they will only paint the same color as stock since they wont paint the inside of the hood, doors, trunk, etc."YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" hell for $150 i will tape off your wholecar and rattle can that bitch with flat black. thats what i do. 12 cans of 99cent krylon.
