Running rich, WHY! and high pitched noise and mod question :D.
Sup guys, i was just wondering what would make a 97 neon run RICH! I've had a couple of sensors changed, including the downstream O2 senor, haven't touched the upstream one yet, hehe, cause of the money.
The noise problem happens when i turn off my car. Its this really high pitched sound that comes from my CPU...i mean, its really up there, you can bearly hear it. I was wondering what would cause that noise.
Finally, I sorta like to "ghetto" mod stuff and I am trying to find out some way to get a Square to fit in a Circle and it being air tight,
. The "square" is the air output of a blower, and i mean an A/C blower from and expedition, very powerful
, and the circle is the air intake tube.
I'm more worried about the first two problems rather than the last one, So I hope you guys can give me some helpful info.

Oh yeh, if you want to see the blower, follow the link http://home.comcast.net/~mishkin_b/PA300001.JPG
Why would you want to put th eblower on your intake tube?
It's not going to do anything but restrict airflow. It's a bad idea.
And second, what codes are you getting?

Thats the code blinking out on the check engine light? The high pitched noise is normal, unless its really loud or somethin. That blower will do nothing for you for many reasons. 1- It can not produce more CFMs than your motor will pull in itself. 2- It will actually restrict airflow. 3- It will not make more than 1-2 psi, even at idle.
BTW, check your spark plugs, injectors, check the EGR valve. There are a lot of contributing factors that will cause the car to run rich.
You might also want to reset the PCM.

To Casper- That code i got from autozone, i went over there and they hooked up their diagnostic computer to it, and that code actually came up twice. I know the blower won't "pressurize" but it will, i guess in a sense, help the motor breath better because the motor will not have to suck in the air because it will already be there to go in and combust.
To Crazy Squee- So you think i should get the manual on my car and check on that stuff? And what is the EGR valve, yes i am a noob at all this
.
About the blower, well it wouldn't hurt just to experiment would it? it blows mighty hard, its about as much as me sticking my head out the windows at like 60mph. I guess i just like to experiment. hehe

It would be helpful if you did get an FSM.
And the blower will do nothign for the car. It's not a good idea and I don't recommend you do anything with it other than throw it in the trash.
EGR=Exhaust Gas Recirculation System.
Basically what it's supposed to do is take unburnt fuel from your exhaust and put it back into the intake charge to be reburnt. However, the amount of fuel in the exhaust is minute and about the only thing it does do is fould up your intake charge. Auto manufacturers are now starting to build cars without EGR systems.

I'm guessing that FSM is the manual. man.....i really wanted to experiment too....*sniff!* oh well, heh, oh yeh i added you to my aim....so GET ON BIH!.
