Miles don't really mean **** if you keep your Engine healthy, ad oil and keep up on anti freeze and you shouldn't have any problems. I'm Turbo'ing mine at almost 130,000 miles.

RE: engine block problems
People Told me that the 98 wasnt the year for the MLS head gasket and I almost believed them till my engine had overheated a few times because of a bad water pump bearing witht hat said and the way I constantly beat that engine I would have thought it was the MLS gasket, because that motor never gives up its been great to me.
Turns out you can tell by lookingin the front of the engine, The mls gasket has a rivet that sticks out in front of the engine below the intake manifoldwhich varifys you have the MLS gasket...long story short IHave the MLS Gasket which is why I havnt blown a head gasket yet!

the first gen talon / eclipse motors were completely different, not even close.
where are you from i have a couple motors sittin around that are rebuildable, one that probly would run fine. do you need a bare block, or all the rotating assemlby with it? i have two of evrything for neons and need to get rid of this ****
