power loss with new gasket
Hey guys, i have another problem, well i have a neon dohc(2.4L) head and it ran fine until my buddy blew the headgasket, so i replaced it and it ran ok which i think the timing is off a notch on the intake side but ever since i replaced my exhaust manifold gasket it wasnt quick off the line atall, i had it floored and it wont get up and go, but once i get up in rpms it starts takin off but not as quick anymore. and it also has a overheating issue when i floor it alot it gets hot but not to the point of stop the car hot.. any help would be good thanx guys!
yes i know im HOPEING thats the problem its not that hard ta do all that but im buyin a waterpump first so i dont have to do all the hassle again, but u guys this the 2.4L head makes a diff or no?
The 2.4L and 2.0L heads are pretty much the same thing. The difference is the cams, and depending on your application, this may or may not be a good thing for you.
Example: the SRT-4 uses the 2.0L/2.4L Head, but slightly different cams than the 2.0L. It is very common for SRT-4 owners to put the 2.0L cams from a 1st gen neon into their SRT-4. Its supposed to give a more aggressive exhaust sound.
