dose n e one here know if i can swap the head off a 98 dohc to a 96 sohc block? ... or is it better just to swap the whole motor?

Yes just have to make sure see if the connectors are the same or you may have to splice them to match the head

What about the extra timing belt pulley? Or does the SOCH block have the bosses to mount it? I got a DOCH with a bad bottom end and an SOCH that is running and inspected.

same block diffrent pistons. DOHC head on a SOHC block gives you lower compression

you also need dohc motor mount braket becare ful i attempted this and snapped 4 valves in have my screw up lol.
