Clutch Help...........
Hello everyone! I have a few questions on a clutch issue I am having. I am a "newbie" to this site, so please bear with me. I just bought my first Neon and I am having an issue with the racing clutch that is in it. The car is a 1996 and my 11th digit in my vin is a "D". The car has many mods done already. Rebuilt 2.0 SOHC, New rod and main bearings, Sealed Power 10.5 to 1 pistons, decked block, shaved head - head has also been ported and gasket matched. Crane cam, Fidanza adjustable timing grear, Mopar performance CPU, Driveshaft Shop racing CV joints, etc. The problem that I am having is that the clutch that is installed is a QuarterMaster Twin disc race clutch. I believe it is the 7.5 inch set-up, but I may be wrong. It also has a Fidanza multi-disc flywheel. Now there is actually nothing wrong with the clutch, but it isn't for a daily driver or for the street in my opinion. It is strictlly for the track. -lololol- Call me old school but I need a clutch to have just a little play in it. But when you put that thing in gear and take the least most pressure of that clutch pedal it is ON! No if ands or buts.....just on or off - just like flipping a light switch. So..........I want to pull out that clutch, which has less that 500 miles on it and replace it with something that will hold up to the mods that I have listed. What clutch is best for my application? I have done a search here on the site, and only have come up with the PT Crusier set-up. Are there others? I'm not new to the car scene, or the aftermarket performance products - Just new to the Neon's. I just want to make my car right. Thanks for all your time..........Chris in Northeast, Ohio...........
lololol - - - I have been sucking it up, for about 2 weeks now!
It's just that in downtown traffic, it's a real bear at times.......does anyone have any experience with htis type of clutch setup? Is there or should there be an adjutment of any type? I know that the cable has a built in adjuster in it, but not sure if its working or not. I have nothing but freeplay until about an inch from the floor. Then its a hard push to bottom it out then bam its in gear..........Unless its just the way that clutch is suppose to be........not to sure.............Thanks...........
