What kind of rims? Aluminum or the stock steel?
I did my stockers with cheap black paint. First I cleaned the rims thoroughly with Castrol's cleaner and a parts cleaning brush. This took off 9 years worth of road grime on both sides. The inside finish looked like new. Then I sandblasted the rust spots on the outside, filled my spraygun with cheap lacquer thinner and sprayed them down. I painted the wheels and set them aside for a few days for the paint to set up then mounted my new Bridgestone 190/60x14 tires.
