Default Gear slop or diff pin or axels???

Ok I've done extensive, and by extensive research i mean 4 hours of reading between here and the other forum about this and I have to say im still confuessed...
Ok, when im driving my car and let off the gas, doesent matter really what speed or gear or rpm's the motor bucks back and forth like all my motor mounts are gone.(there not there all good and have inserts) and when i get back on the gas it will do the same thing. I have ruled out the bobble strut, and a post on the other forum has two guys saying it could be two different things and both are mods over there. one says its a normal wear thing called gear slop wear the gears wear down over time and the axels wearing also causing there to be a bucking when the gears release and then catch back up with the gear. and the other states that after years of autocross and being able to take his tranny apart in his sleep said that it was probally the diff pin and the way to tell if the diff pin was bad was...

Car in neutral - hand brake on.
Jack your front wheels off the ground.
Grab one wheel and turn it until you move the other wheel.
Stop - then turn it BACK until you move the other wheel.
If the distance of 'free spin' is more then 3-4" of rotation you may want to take a look inside your tranny.

Now both aguments sound reasonable to me i can see how after the gears have worn down over the years they would cause this. But i could also see how the diff pin could cause this as well. I had the car up on jacks the other night and tested to see how much play was in the wheels following the instructions above and hell i sware i allmost got a full rotation out of the tire before the other one started to move, so yeah. The old owner of my car was known for doing burnouts and racing tons of people in this car witch everyone knows is a no no with neons becuase of the diff pin.

What do you guys think???
It would be better if it was the diff pin becuase I've wanted to get a phantom grip lsd for a while now and I would just get the diff pin from them too plus my clutch is starting to go ever so slightly so I could just do all 3 at the same time.
Any thoughts would be great.
Thanks in advance...
This is what his diff pin looked like after two years of auto cross by the way....

I can relate to your problem a bit. Mine does the same, but not to that degree. It will jerk if I let off the gas and when I get back on it. It gets worse the lower the gear is, and the higher the gear, you don't notice it as much.

I did a swap from auto to manual a year or so ago, and I never put in the bobble strut. I just put it in about 4 weeks ago and it seems to help abit, but none the less if there isn't a slight acceleration in the lower gears, it jerks like a mad man.

And yes, both of those explanations you have gotten could very well be. Maybe its a bit of both, and the two small problems are adding up to a bigger one. That being your car jerking so much. Next time my car is up on the jacks, I'll do the neutral test. But one thing makes me wonder, why neutrul, the car or tranmission isn't engaged when in neutral? I would think a gear should be selected. IDK, just wondering.

Goodluck
