Default Mopar PCM or RPM gauge off?

i realized that my 97 SOHC hits the rev limitor at 7500. not at 6500. how do i know if my RPM gauge is off or i have the PCM? at idle the RPMs are around 700-800 so i dont think my RPMS are off...least not by that much...but at the same time i dont think i have the Performance PCM....
