Ok. My car ... 1997 Dodge Neon DOHC and my Service engine soon light was on well then my car wouldnt stay running... So my brother works on cars and he said the EGR valve so we bought a Used one and put it on and that didnt help.......you turn the key and it will not stay running.........any other tips besides a EGR valve..........when i replaced that the service engine soon light went out but it still runs like poop. Can any1 help?

 

Ok run out to your car and put your key in now there are three positons you can turn your key to off on and start keep that in mind.... now take your key that is now in the off postion and do this withing 5 seconds. On - Off - On - Off - On. The check engine light will begin to flash like morris code. Depending on how many times it flashes it will corispond with a diagnostic code that we will be able to decode.
Like if it flashes blink-blink-blink-pause-blink-blink-blink-blink this will be code 34 meaning Speed Control Solenoid Circuit is bad. there may be more then one code so stay alert. you will always get code 55 it means end of codes.

Go do that and tell us what you get...

its is located under your hood in the fuse/relay box. if i remember correctly ist the one thats is closer to the grill

 

Ok i pulled 1 out for the fuel pump but im thinking about going and buying a new 1 ...... Thanks
