Default how to fix a power moonroof

I just recently purchased a 97 neon it has a power moonroof don't know if it is factory or not but its missing a switch and doesn't seem to work any body ever mess with them are they hard to get parts for? the switch is missing and when I jump use a jumper to try to get it to work its got a dead short and blows the fuse I would think thats its most likely an aftermarket one, but are they easy to work any info or suggestions would be helpful
Thanks
Rich

If it's a factory unit it will have a spot in the headliner for 2 switches to control it. I have repaired mine more times than I care to remember, and it's broken again. So I've decided to forget it's even there till spring. They are easy to get parts for, just gotta find a junkyard that has one, or head to the local deslership with wads of cash.

Does the roof look like it was cut for it, or is the opening stamped?
This is a factory roof:

mine is about the same size but more square up front as far as being cut or stamped I can't tell if it was an aftermarket they did a real good job as soon as my wife finds the camera I'll take a couple of pics of it

you can tell by your headliner. the stock headliner wont be cut and streched. my sunroof in my car is an aftermarket one...and all they did was cut a hole in the headliner. took out the insides of the headliner and streched and made it all fit back up. but like above your head from the side to the sunroof should be more of a curve rather than it just being flat.

If I can manage to get home before dark I'll try to get some pics of my factory unit.

I would really appreciate it I don't know if this would help determine if its OEM or aftermarket is the domelight is behind the roof I don't know where the factory location is on one with a moonroof
