Default theoreticly, how much room....

how much room do you really need to swap out a clutch????

If i do it in my garage I will have about 3 feet on each side of the car and about 4 in the front with the car backed all the way back to the garage door. How much room will i need to pop the axels out of the passenger side becuase i figure if I pull it more over to the right of the garage i will have more room on the transmission side of things or does it really matter???

HELP I dont want to start tearing into the car then not having enuf room and not being able to move the car.

You have to remove the transmission to get to the clutch. So will need room on bothe sides to get the axles out. The passenger side axle is longer than the driver's side.

you dont even have to pull the passenger side axle all the way out just get it away from the trans about 3inches and you'll be good. however on the driver side i like to pull the axle all the way out because if you dont it will get hung up and be in the way. you should have enough room in that garage, i would just park it so the passenger side was a little bit closer to the wall.

So if i leave the passenger side in when i drop the tranny the axel should just pop out of the tranny side right???

how hard is it acually to get the drivers side axel out it seems like its a lot of work from the manual??? Will I sware alot???

yeah you can do it. i'm in the process of putting my car back together after the clutch and my car is a two car garage but can BARELY fit two Neons in it. and i already have one on jack stands. i had about 4 feet in front and about 2 feet on both sides. if your small you can do it. but just make sure you have enough room in the rear of the car to jack it up high enough to get the transmission out.

You shouldn't really have a problem, the only reason I said have fun is because with this big of a job, you will have so many tools and crap laying around you wont be able to find your *** from your face, lol.
