installing aftermarket tach
how do i get past the twin coils. i can only get my rpm guage to register at half the rpms it should be at. (eg. my idle rpm is 450? dont think so.). is there any way to run it off of the cars originalrpm wires behind the dash, if so does anyone have a wiring diagram pic so that i know which wire it is. thanks.
thanks das ill try that. that what tech book at the dodge dealer said too. but do you think that the after market tach will work with that wire? and of course i set it 4 cyl but with two separate coils it only reads off of 1,3 cyl or 2,4 cyl know what i mean. a computer tech at the dealership told me that so i would assume its true.

in response to two posts, no my car does not have a tach wire behind the dash. i found out that i have to run it off of the pcm. not a big deal. and i dont know about your neons but mine has two coils that run: 1,3 and 2,4.
one coil two coil banks... but only one coil with 4 post... and they do not run 1,3 and 2,4 they run 1,4 and 2,3. if the wire is gray with a blue tracer coming out of the pcm then its also behind the dash.... if you pull out your gauges there are two connectors the one on the right has the gray and blue wire... It will be there if it is coming out of the computer...
