dude, your probably only going to get like 10hp. from a cam, but then again you said ur running the 2.4 right? so then ur running a turbo? this kinda info is needed to figure out what ur gain would be. honestly i would skip the internet shopping and call a crane customer rep. pick their brain and find out what you will really get, plus they will help you pick out the RIGHT cam for what you are doing. cams have to be disigned to function within a certain rpm range, and if ur running a turbo the cam has a completely differant shape than if ur n/a. of a n/a 420a opperating at an average rpm of 3000 rpm they'll use a nomial lobe design and if your using a turbo and opperating at 3500 then they will use a polynomial lobe disign with a more agressive ramp angle. i know this is probably over your head, but thats exactly my point, cams are very intricate and DICTATE the personality of an engine. talk to a rep. and get what you really want, you'll apreciate the extra effort!

we are swapping a 2.4 from a 98 stratus into his car.. NOTURBO. has been done 1000 times....
the difference between the 2.0 and 2.4 stock cams are that the 2.4 cams are tuned for more tq down low and the motor falls on its face around 4500 rpm... it has to have more tq concidering that it normally in a car that is a mid size family car that weighs sigificantly less then a neon... so what people do is put 2.0 stock cams and it opens up your tq range so the car can acually perform above 4500 rpm.. there are things you must do to make the 2.0 cams work but thats a whole different thread...
and not to step on anyones toes but he will be fine with stock retainers its been done millions of times... the titanium ones really dont do squate but look pretty... Hell Jeff B has run crane 28's with stock retainers and has lasted 2 drag seasons and he daily drives the car as well...

I think you should just get a nice pair of 2.0 cams for it boxer, then you can put your money in the turbo bank

Btw, this is just an example of what CAN happen, this was just in my bone stock lawn mower:

The retainer failed, motor sucked up the intake valve, punched it straight through the head and valve cover twice.

i dont exactly know if you NEED the retainers, but i always want to play it safe when it comes to having over $2,000 in a motor
