if the car is a manual, is the key release button working???
might have to get the ignition lock out and take it to a lock smith....
if your key still moves, then its easy to do...
turn you key to the "on" position....
use a skinny screwdriver, pen, or anything long and thin....under the plastic steering wheel shroud (directly under the lock cylinder) there is a small hole....stick the screwdriver or whatever in the hole and pull on the key.....this will pull the lock cylinder out of the steering column for easier examination...
if the car is an auto, then you will have to use a screwdriver to pry the plastic bunny eared piece off that is where the key goes in......
this is just a thought
