Default new motor

I ordered a stroker for my neon from Howellautomotive.com, it's been almost 3 months now and still no motor. They are telling me their motorguy is on vacation. Has anyone else ordered anything from them?

Thanks fsu, I'm just getting frustrated with the waiting and feeling blown off. Sucks ordering stuff from so far away and not being 100% confident in the people on the other end. On the other hand it sucks buying locally and having your compition know what you're working with.

i have hurd that they r very very slow, i have always ordered from modernperformance, i was thinking about ordering a bottom end from them to, but i do not like the fact on there SHIPPING is very very very slow... and i would rather be able to go the the shop that is building my engine instead of hoping that they would get to it when they could.....

one thing about howell is - they don't stock a lot. so if you order something - they in turn have to order it, get it, and send it out. their shop is an old garage on the side of a mountain near the bottom. with your engine - im guessing they had to order most of the perf. parts. I know they have a lot of stripped blocks and order the parts in. plus with the guy being on vaca... days add up. more so for you cuz your waiting though. ahh the frustration of patience... or lack there of

Did you ask them if he was on vacation 3 months ago when you ordered it? Have they begun working on it and blah blah blah? I have heard about 2 good things from Howell for every 98 bad things about them.

I order from Modern for most of what I have bought in the past and either picked it up and had it FedEx'd to me.

thats your main problem right there.....

a couple years ago i ordered some drop zone springs from them.....took 2 monthes before i could get ahold of them to ask why i havent recieved them.....then they told me they were on back order for another 6 monthes...i told them i wanted my money back and it took another month to get the refund....
i guess the only thing that howel automotive is good for is to use them as a savings account
