Ok guys. I was looking for A fordged piston for my new engine. As its apartent i blew my stock motor apart. i want to keep in a budget but get fordged pistons. theres ross,CP,wiseco,topline,speed pro,JE,TRW, and maybe others. i want a cheap pair of fordged pistons maybe 300 350. any ideas?

 

JE are the best hands down.

 

I know. but there also 500+ for them i was looking for sumthing in 300 + range

 

just remember...forged pistons usually use a floating wrist pin....therefor you will have to get aftermarket rods such as EAGLE

 

wiseco makes a set with ether press fit or floaters. i was looking in to aluminum rods for 500 dollors. any down sides to them???

 

not really anything bad about them....EAGLES are only about $350 though

 

acualy found eagles for 307 at horsepowerparts.com and wisecos for 430. but im looking in to a custom set of pistons from venoliA pistons built for boost and nitrous. now i got a question for you spud. whats so diffent with a long rod vers a short rod? and what advantiges are there with both? my buddy said more power with a long rod and less durabilty but iv read articles how a long rod doesnt aplie alot of pressire to the clinder wall when its stroking and because a short rod is shorter it pushes harder againest the wall. what should i get??

ok guys i need help picking pistons and rods should i get long rods or short rods? im ordering the pistons and rods tomarrow and i need to know whats what with long and short rods.

 

long rods are for the 2.2 storoker kit...
