slash you are totaly hooked on neons. what you gonna do when you want a new car and they dont have them any more?

 

I got my car back yesterday after notbeing able to driv eit for a awhile , boy did i miss it !

 

my list is a little small. owned my 97 coupe since May of 07.

Head gasket - 106k
valve cover gasket - 106k
spark plug tubes - 106k
Timing belt - 106k
water pump - 106k
shifting bushings - 106k
clutch (had a little anger problem and well, fried it) - 112k
flywheel - 112k
rear main seal (didn't need it but figured i would since i was back there for the clutch) - 112k
throwout bearing - 112k
all 4 new tires (Fuzion HRi 195/60R14's) - 113k

so far thats it. bought the car with the blown headgasket with 106k. and shes now only at 113k. not bad for a $500 car that runs and looks terrific.

I'll make the list for my 95' later on.

 

I'll be ok Theres plenty of Mopars out there that are very nice.

 

My list would be absurd,but they are all caused by racing or improving the car to race.

 

we can start with i got my 96 neon i got it free, with 50,000 on it . it was jerking because of the vehiccle speed sensor was bad, and it was hiting max mph and shuting down the engine so i fixed that.
new brakes 2 times
head gasket
radio
new 02's
battery reloacation
new timing belt,tensioner,water pump,and idler pulley
home made engine mounts
guted cat, in need of new one
new dohc exhast
my crank pully had a crack so i changed it for a mpx pulley.
i ported my stock plastic mani when i did my head gasket.
trany problems so i put new trans filter in new oil and a bottle of lucas and had no problems since. even with the nitrous runing
now i need a new engine i blew a piston to smithereens
not much i did for a 96 neon. and i did my ovius mods i have listed in my sig

 

Ok, bought mine in March of 05 with 82,000 on her

1. installed aftermarket cd deck
2. rear brakes
3. tires

Then found out the head gasket was blown at 89,xxx...

4. head gasket job along with timing belt and water pump

ran for 2 days when it shut off

since then I have replaced

5. 2 coil packs

6. crank sensor

7. cam sensor

8. wiring harness

9. 2 pcm's

10. reset timing

11. 3 sets of plugs



It was a good car until the head gasket blew, after that was taken care of I was like, alright. But then it shut off, I replaced all of those things that werent actually broken. Still sitting in the driveway with 89,xxx on it, not running.

 

Do you have all your basics, fuel, spark and compression? You seem to be leaning towards spark it seems?

 

Yep, air, fuel, and compression. No spark.
