e.t.s.... my first run
wdup yall well i recently ran my stock 98 r/t 2 dr with 160k mi. it ran ok i guess i got a .3 reaction time and a 15.8 @ 87 mi an hour... so im thinkin thats ****ty but all i did was gut the car like to the point where there is no carpet and only the driver seat... so on the line i experienced terrible wheel hop but now that ive installed the motor mount inserts it feels alot better and i also put in a hurst short shifter so hopefully i run a better time... my friend told me to remove the power steering and aircon unit and said i should hit very low 15's maybe even hi 14's... so is this guy smokin crack or is it possible... again i dont even have an intake or headers or exhaust... stock everything... what do u all think...
Actually, that's not bad at all for a stock RT with that mileage. Removing the belt to the PS is an old tried and true drag racing idea. It takes several HP to run the pump and that comes directly off the crank, so yeah, it would help for sure. Same with the A/C compressor. I'm not sure it would be enough to get you into the low 15's thought. Here's a link that has some different HP, ET calculators that can help you. Look in the tools section of the site.

More like mid. 15's. Throw i/h/e on there and a high 14 might be possible. the best mod you can do to drop your time is drag slick tires. They will always work no matter what you add after them.
I'm in the same wagon with you guys about tires, got some cheapo 195/65R14's on my car and they have sooooo little traction, I can pull out onto the highway in first and stomp on it from about 10mph and it will just spin the damn tires (guess thats what you get for buying $55 tires lol)

All will change when I get tires that grip.
My 60fts are killing me.[:@]
