Default crankshaft sensor

ok so i found out that the crankshaft sensor is whats giving me the starting problem. but now i have a new one. my buddy who owns a shop looked up how to take it out and it looked simple, 1 10mm bolt and the clip for the wires and it should pop out. but one problem, it won't budge. the bolt is completely out, and the clip is off. i tried to spin it in every direction, in case it was keyed or threaded, but nothing. i then tried to force it off, only resulting in breaking off the plastic outside, now the sensor is stuck in it. is there anything else holding this thing in? cause i'm about to put a screw in it and make it come out. any ideas at all?

You have to pull on it. It can be tough to pull out, but it will come out.

i have gone as far as drilling out a small pilot hole, putting in a screw, and then pulling on it. the screw actually stripped out and it still wont budge. i dont think it should be this hard.

Maybe she should get somebody who knows what they are doing. All you have to do is pull on the sensor and not brake it

Yeah you are doing something wrong man... Blame it on dodge because something so simple is hard for you... If it was a civic it would have come right out, eh? Or hell, if it was a civic, you wouldnt have been down there in the first place, right?

Go to your local parts place and pick up a can of PB Blaster Penitrating catalyst...it's a white spray can w/ an old add type label....It works miracles...Spray it on, tap the sensor a couple times and give it 5-10 minutes to start working. after that, grab it with vice grips parallel w/ the engine and turn the sensor whille prying on the tip of the vice grips, not the sensor w/ a pry bar.

well i did spray PB Blaster all over it, about 5 times, let it sit and set in, and i tried vice grips, still wouldn't budge. so i then put a screw in the remaining piece of the sensor, and that actually stripped out the screw. so something is completely wrong here.

and yes i am blaming it on dodge because a crankshaft position sensor should have never gone in the first place. i, nor my friends who work in a multiple shops, have never heard this peice going on any chevy, ford, honda, toyota, vw or anything but dodges. and they all said they had to drop the oil pan just to get it out. well that's blocked by a motor mount, so i dont think i really want to do that.

You don't have to drop the oil pan to the sensor off.
