Default cold weather tick

ive got a 96 highline SOHC. since ive had the car (october) it makes a strange ticking noise in the engine when i accelerate. now im not sure if it is just because of the cold weather (i havent had it in hot weather) or something else. but after the car runs for a while, or if im going at a higher speed the noise seems to go away. does anyone have any idea what it might be?

all neons have the cold idle knock, it's there some just aren't as loud as others.... Unless you feel that something is wrong your prolly fine.... Does it go away when the car gets to full operating temp?? Or, does it maybe quiet down?? Mine gets less noisy as it warms, but I do know that I have a valve tap.
