best place to drill threw firewall

Default best place to drill threw firewall

where would the best place to drill threw the firewall be to put in a temp gauge?

when i ran my wires for the amps i just poked a hole thru the rubber grommet that the wiring harness comes out of.

how does the gauge sense pressure?

its mechanical and im just gonna put it where the stock temp sensor goes on the intake manifold. and then figure somthing out to do with the stock sensor, id put it threw the gromet but i only have like 6 feet of cable to work with.

would the square checker pattern on the firewall be a good place taht is easy to acces on the inside of the car

You will need to find a better place to install your sensor. If you unplug the stock one, the PCM will not get a reading and it will run the motor realy rich. Been there done that.

where did you put ur sensor?

I can't nobody has mentioned the free and open gromet that is right next to brake cylinder, all you do is squeze yourself between your drivers seat and dash and look a little up past your brake pedal where it goes into the brake cylinder and you'll see a rubber gromet, just pop it out from the inside with your finger and you'll have a 2 inch wide circular hole to put your boost gauge tubing and boost controller vaccum hose through and whatever else through.

maybe i sould have been more specific indescribe the location of the rubber grommet that the wiring harness comes out of.but yeah were talking the same gromment. much better torun things thru that then drill a hole.

Its a plugged hole all by itself nothing runs through it, its next to the harness gromet though I'll take a pic and show you and you can tell me if you ever seen it

answer this one somebody? wheres the best spot to put the temp gauge sensor? is there a plug in the back of the block somewhere? i think there mite be but im not sure if what i see is for water or oil pressure
