Default Found a way to fool the Map sensor not to see boost!!

When my map clamp went yesterday I was really pissed off but then I wasn't cuz I thought I'd go throw money in the bank and buy a missing link off ebay and have it on monday well the fkn bank dated my deposit for the 17th so I got fkd for buying the missing link till the 17th. I couldn't wait and I was going nuts so I decided to fk around with some extra map clamps I had sitting around and I figured since its calibrated to mostly read vacuum why not hook it up to a vaccum source... such as the Brake Booster.

So what I did was I unplugged the map/iat harnessfrom my intake map/iat sensor and left the original sensorin the intake. Then I took an extra sensor Itook from a junk yard and hooked it up to the harness and then I took a extravaccum hose had laying around and hooked it up to the Map/IAt sensor snoutand hooked the other end up to my brake booster. Gota say it works pretty damn good and I gonna keep it that way? No, but its a interesting thing that thestock map/iat can be fooled by just hooking a vaccum source to it.

the problem is that all the vaccum the car produces turns to boost under the turbo pressure...that includes you brake booster

The motor has a little cough when driving conservatively oncebetween gears at about 3psibut then after 3psi it goes up to 7psi without incident. But if I use half throttle orfull throttle it doesn't burp at all.

If this could be perfected by somebody who understands the operation of it better than I do I think it could benefit the Neon world by giving them another option to themap clamp and missing link or at least an alternative to have some fun while your waiting for your missing link to come in the mail . Its not the most efficient way to run thats why I didn't cancel the thought of ordering my missing link on Monday, but it certainly workssatisfactory in a bind.

I know exactly what you mean that it turns to boost once the Turbo spools, but I'm thinkin the brake booster limits the effects of boost so that is not as prevalent, similar to a missing link. About an hour before I blew my down pipe off I was on the highway and passed this Mustang like he was standing still when he was trying to atempt tocut me off, gota say it was like I was on my brothers 800 tripleArcticatsnowmobile, the rush was INSANE the car bucked forward violently and hauled *** whenI engaged the passing gear at 65mph.

The vacuum line to the brake booster and map/iat sensordeffinitly works better than my fkd up map clamp which cut me out at 3500 Rpm no matter what, with this modI can at least push it up to 5500 Rpm.. which is the max I tried.

Before the snow melts do you want to race my brothers 800 Arcticat? vs your 4wheeler? 150hp of pure pain.

I'd take you up on the Neon vs 4wheeler, I'll unplug the speed sensor and we'll see how you handle the 4 wheeler at 120mph+

4 wheelers scare the fk out of me, I rode double on a Banshee at over 85mph once and that was it for me. Hell me and my brother raced his 800 Arcticat against my 600 Arcticat and I was doing 105mph across a lakeand his 800 lost me I couldn't even see cuz his studded track threw up so much mist. The 600 has 120hp and his 800 has 150hp. We were afraid of falling through the ice on thelake so we just hauled *** across it figuring if we hit open water we'd skid across it like the youtube water skipping snowmobile videos...lol. Thats probably the last time we go across a lake. He still doesn't know how fast he was going, he said he stopped looking after 80mph I just know at 105mph I was in his dust.

If you lose it at 100mph on a Banshee then you mine as well have somebody on call to call the Meat Wagon (Coroner).
