I was wondering how hard it is to change a check strap for the driver's side door on a 2 door. I'm not positive this is what it's called, but it's the piece that keeps the door from swinging wide open, and also stops it at half-open. I'm also going to assume this is going to be a junkyard find.Any help is great, as I would hate to have my door fold itself backwards, or smack someone elses door in a parking lot.

 

you would be correct on the jy find... unless you want to pay an arm and a leg...

I'm pretty sure its 2 bolts on the door 2 bolts on the car and you just twist it a hair when pulling it out of the body... then slip the new one in bolt 2 bolts to the body then bring the door over and bolt it to that...

 

its easy. you are going to have to take off the door panil and i think the speaker. but its not hard at all maybe 15 mins.
