My neon lost battery charge, we replaced the battery and it happened again. We figured the alternator was going bad. My dad was looking around and discovered that the alternator belt was gone. It hasn't overheated since I bought it about four weeks ago. I was wondering what else might have caused this and how difficult it is to replace. My dad has never worked on neons so personally does not know how long it would take or how complicated it may be. Thanks.

 

not that hard. the adjustor bolt is on the back side of the motor under the power steering res.

it could of shreaded itself off if the pulleys aren't aligned.
