okay i currently have a sohc neon and am doing a motor swap and im not sure to do a 2.0 dohc or the 2.4....between the two, the only parts i can see i need for the 2.4 that i dont need for the 2.0 is an underdrive pulley and the motor mount adapter... is this true?? please everybody and anybody post info and opinions because im buying a motor on wednesday and need to decide asap! thanks everybody!!

 

if you are going to do a 2.4 swap do the srt-4

by the way take a guess how much it takes to put srt internals in a na 2.4 block...

 

the srt swap is a lot more work and money than the 2.4 to be honest i just need this car to run and be dependable without droppin a ton of cash into it and the 2.4 torque difference would be enough to satisfy my power needs for a daily driver for now lol

im doing the 2.4 swap not sure what im gonna gain out of it but have heard it talked up alot and if i want to get ti way fast later i can put itn the srt4 internals for about $500 and put a turbo on it.. and the torque on the 2.4 seems to be SWEET going with a wopping 133 lbs of torque with the 2.0 or 165 with the 2.4.... and im pretty sure your gonna need all the same parts so you might as well upgrade.. i may be shut down for saying that,, but hey everyone has there own opinion..
but i guess if you can get the 2.0 for cheaper then get it but i didnt care about cost because i want to see what is best for my car and i couldnt find any engines in my area so it was gona cost $800 shipped to me for the 2.0 ,or $995 shipped for the 2.4.. and i think it will be well worth it..

but like 95-96 posted that Link will show you everything cept i didnt see were it says you need atleast the pt clutch.. but i bought the same one spud and some others have the f1 clutch for like $200

 

you dont "need" a pt clutch... just a good idea seeing that the 2.4 resonds to the same upgrades the 2.0 does but even better and hp adds up quick in the 2.4
