Throwing codes 12 and 31. Help?t
The blue r/t is throwing codes 12 and 31. 12 is Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles, and code 31 is Evap purge flow monitor failure or evap solenoid circuit. Code 12 i read to just disconnect the battery and clean it up. hook it back up and turn it on or wait 50 cycles. but what about code 31? any suggestions? help, please. Thanks.

code 12 will not throw the cel on, it will be present but will not turn the light on...
code 31 is a fairly easy fix...
start off at the tb, check to make sure the boot to theplastic vac line is in good shape, then trace it threw the intake manifold make sure theplastic tube is in good shape no cracks no holes... then check the vac line boot to the evap purge sylinoid (sp), make sure the evap purge sylinoid is in good shape and the electrical connections are solid... then trace theline down to the charcoal canister behind the front bumper on the passenger side of the car... check to make sure that vac lines are in good shape going in and out of it...
other then that it may be the soleonoid itselfbeingbad...
thats about the only way totrouble shoot and the only thing thatcould be wrong...
other then make sure your gas capstill has the rubberO-ring on it and make sure it still seals correctly... easy way to find out is go out to your car and take the cap off should have some pressure behind it and make a whoosh sound when you take it off... Thats what the evap system does... is purge the extra pressure back to the motor when its running.... but only when the car is in motion itdoes not work at idel...

code 12 is really not a code... it just means the battery has been disconnected... It will NOT make you fail any type of emissions... its a harmless code, pretend its not there... lots of times it will be there for the life of the car... but will not lite the cel light...

ok. well i just got back inside from working on the r/t. I unhooked the battery while i was working on the stuck caliper, probably half an hour, and then i hooked it back up, and started it up, and the CEL was off. so im gonna let it go, and see what happens. i did check everything you said 95, and i didnt see anything unusual. ill keep you posted. thanks for the help.
