+ aar cuda style

id like to just use a magnaflow resonator, but i think it'd be too loud. maybe just use a magnaflow circular muffler so that it tucks up in the exhaust tunnel and send the pipe out in front my back tire.

i dont really like the look of duals out the back on a neon

you may want to think twice about the side exit... they tend to heat up the fuel lines or brake lines... but look under your car and you will instantly see what needs to be done...

oh and theres alot of platnum (sp) in the cat along with some other precious metals... and no im not pulling your leg..

wow.... u learn something every day.

the more i look at it the more i dont like the way any exhaust system would look with stock body parts. the car's shape just doesn't let anything look much better than stock. just shinier. maybe go straight out the back with doubles on one side, like stock, but elimanate the rear 90degree bends (over the rear suspension and go straight out) id like to notch the bumper cover at the bottom at least and make it look a little better.

ill change my mind 15 times before the exhaust is on the car though

I would just run it straight back eliminating the 90 like you said and slip a resinator somewhere in the middle of the exhaust hump... keep the noise down... maximum flow...

exhaust has bends for a reason. to speed up the flow and to slow it down. if i were u for best flowing exhaust i woudl get some mandrel bent 3' and then for a muffler get a sonic turbo swirl or whatever there called and for the cat get a piece of 2.5 od pipe and put it inside of the hollowed out cat so it appears theres a cat

not trying to start an aguement...

you are right about there being bends for a reason... mostly backpressure... however the neon doesent need much at all let alone one with a lth and a afx race pcm... it clearly states that you must get rid of your cat and have a free flowing exhaust... there not joking... the cat will melt... it advances the timing so much that it will straight throw flames down that far and before you know it the cat will be glowing... these pcm's are designed to have a free flowing exhaust and when they mean free flowing straight piping is perfered..... I would find a way to quiet it down a bit...

dontthrow outyour cat.

reason #1 you might need it someday

#2 if you are going to get rid of it, some JY's will give you anywhere from $10 - $75 for the precious metal inside.

it'll sit on the shelf for a while. its not usable now, i cut it off with no piping to work with. it'd have to be welded back and and it wouldnt be a very strong hold. i cant imagine wanting to put it back on this car. maybe i will sell it for scrap.
