meow let me see your license and registration. do i look like a cat to you, boy?am i jumpin' around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree?(if u dont know what movie thats from - dont talk to me) lol
i replaced my catalytic converter with a piece of 2" exhaust tubing today
. I held it up to the sun and I could literally only see about1/4" of light through the 2" opening. i got antsy about an afx computer and im bidding on instead of buying new suspension this weekend....
so it'll be CAI, 52mm TB, cat-delete, and AFX computer. hopefully ill have the dohc up to about 150 hp

im winning it now, but there is a .org guy bidding too. thing is - i live 25 minutes from howell. even if i dont win im going to call them on monday morning and see how long it'd take to flash my pcm. id rather get it on ebay and not drop 390... but i want it too badly now that ive put the time in modifying the exhaust. my luck howell will want my stock pcm for a month
had to flange that pipe with a torch by bending it out. dont u love it when something that should take 20 minutes takes 3 hours? lol.

probally better flow threw the exaust... the lth that he plans on using has a merdge collector on it for a purpose... to get the spent fumes out of the car as quick as absoulutely possable... a gutted cat would disrupt that air flow causing a loss in power...

i had apiece of 2" tubing lying around and thought id just swap them out. primarily because ill end up with a long tube header and a side exit exhaust i think. so no use taking the effort to make the cat look like its still there since this is temporary. like i said im really after an afx cpu, and i want to be able to bolt it on asap once i get it.
yes, in pa where the car is registered this is illegal. we have to have our cars inspected once a year, but like most ppl i know a guy.....
im not really sure what all is in a catalytic converter, or how hard it would have been to punch the thing out. it was rusted onto the rest of the exhaust though, so i cut it off. everything on my car is rusted to everything else.... its really kind of annoying. lol.
