agreed, if your not driving through a puddle deep enough to submerge the filter, you should be ok, and remember, even a cai that runs at the back like the k&n and the aem and ebay ones can suck up water from water splashing against the firewall

the route
should include measuring the
IAT, MAP and acceleration of the vehicle
before,
and then after
any air intake mod

take Australian advice:

once you begin testing air intakes this way
you will realize
99.9% of what you read on the internet about air intakes
is 'wild guessing'

Hey all I bought one of those C.A.I. kits that you can pice together and design your own. What is the best route to run it? I have a 1997 Neon 2.0 SOHC with a MTX. I am buying one of the members' 52mm TB but for the life of me I can't see where to put it. Part of it is a flexible hose that extends 28" and has "memory" position. Thanks!
That flex pipe with memory u got everything for autozone, if u look on the back ur supose to put a solid pipe in ur TB then the filter then hook the flew pipe up to the top of the filter n run the flew pipe out side ur car or close to an open air way in front of the engine

like this... see the hole in the headlight? goes to an intake pipe

Nice engine bay. Your's resemble mine although your's is way nicer.so I have to ask where is your battery? Looking at this pic your battery should be where the piping goes down. Also what is the smaller vent filter to the back left (looking at the pic) of your engine attached to>

thats funny...
my 1st neon had a K&N FIPK on it with the air filter right above the exhaust manifold and i ended up driving down a flooded road....the water did exactly that and i sucked it in the motor....
the difference though is that the road i drove down was under about 2 feet of water[&:]
