running without a thermostat is going to increase the wear on your engine. Need more info to effectively troubleshoot

does it over heat?

how long does it take to over heat?

does it happen when your at stop lights?

does the coolant bubble in the resivor?

how can running w/out t stat hurt motor???
because it takes way too long for it to come up to proper operating temp. lubrication will suffer due to lack of heat in the block for a much longer duration.
