u dont make anything shorter
there is a little ball towards the end of the shaft about 1.5' diameter
the farther up the shaft makes the shift shorter
so the after that the longer the bottom section is the shorter the shift

you can cut the shaft shorter, it looks and feels nice, but is completely useless performance wise

the little rob/**** combo piece at the very bottom of the shaft, the less that has to travel, the shorter your throw
so make it straight instead of slightly crooked like stock and move it up about 1/4" to 1/2"

that should work for you

so i just got 2 post that were both differant

one of you say the longer the bottom half is the shorter the shift and the other says the shorter it is

so the after that the longer the bottom section is the shorter the shift
so make it straight instead of slightly crooked like stock and move it up about 1/4" to 1/2"

i wasnt talking about making the shaft shorter since i did say

if i took my stock shifter and made the part that really matters shorter what would i gain out of it
but i actually need to makethe bottom part longer??

anyone have any pictures of there STS before the install so i can see what the bottom part looks like...

apply simple physics
if you have a longer end shaft applyed to a cable, the throw(distance shifter moves) would be longer
have a smaller shaft(haha) and the throw is reduced

someone correct me if im wrong
ill post pics tonight
