you use the 2.0 computer that is the same year as your car. if you are putting in a 2.4 and you already have a 2.0 DOHC than you just use your stock pcm. if you have a SOHC you need to buy a new 2.0 DOHC computer of the same year as your car (if it is 97-99 I have one to sell if you need one)

your transmission - clutch and all - from your 2.0 will be fine as long as its in good shape.

heres the deal... theres alot more to doing a 2.4 swap then just throwing it in there... boxer spent just under 1000 bucks on stuff other then the motor... so its not a cheap swap unless you have alot of the stuff already... the rest you better hope you find used... like the pt alternator brackets and water outlet...

if you ahve a sohc right now then i believe the difficulty level is about the same... and you will need just about everything the same as the 2.4 swap.. exceptional from a few pieces..

see i was thinking of just doing the Dohc swap... but then the 2.4 was brought up and i looked up the stats and 150 hp and 165lbs of torque that torque is undeniable.. once i saw that i was like were putting the 2.4 in.... the 2.0 has 150 hp and about 130 lbs of torque..

but i guess its what you want to do.. yeah putting in the 2.4 is spendy but i just saved every one of my paycheck [8D] being in highschool i dont have any bills yet

2.4L Stratus motor $995
2.5' exhaust $220
F1 Stage 1 Clutch $203

2.4L Mount Adapter $70
Dohc wiring harness $70
PT Water Inlet $25
Complete Gasket Kit $60
DOHC Header $60
Underdrive Pulley $60
Fuel Injectors. $50
2.0 Cams And Gears $48
Granatelli Wires $48
Water Pump $46
Lower ALT Bracket $43
Solid Bushings $40
Intake manifold $38
Fuel Rail $30
Thermostat housing $26
Booger Bushings $22
EGR block off kit $20
2.4 Alternator Belt $19

2.4 Motor Mount $15
ALT Upper Bracket $12
Valve Cover Filter $11
DOHC Thermostat $10
Upper Rad hose $10

some of those can be bought for cheaper and some you may have to spend more on

now see i do have a 2.0DOHC, and i can get a good motor for 100 bucks pulled up where i live, so i alreday have the majority of the parts im juss wondering if itll take ALOT longer to do than juss put another 2.0 in there... now there reason im gunna go with the 2.0 again is i have a sohc bottom end and 2.0dohc top end so im a lil low on compression, now if i go with the 2.0 again i can get the 2.4 and stilllll drive my neon and turbo the 2.4 while its out, all i need is a turbo i already got all the parts for it besides the turbo.
