there was a 2.7 DCR long block on srtforums a while back for $7,000

 

hmm.. used, new? i would gladly pay 7kfor a new 2.7 long block if it came with oil pan and valve cover lol butwill my stage3 axles work on that motor and tranny if its from the 1g?? i know the block is cast iron but i came across some one who hadmade a cast iron top end but the guy hasn't got back to me on that. if so i want a 2.2 stroker with a cast iron top end because i hope it would beIndestructible .still at the drawing bord spent the last week doing hard research on 20+ message bords i need something really reliable like 4,000 mile race reliable shes got to beable to take a beating like its an everyday think because it will be. and the radiator well im not shure where im going to mount it probbly top mount so hood scoop actually serves a purpos, intercooler front mount, oil cooler as well on one sideand tranny cooler on the other.

 

so your gonna do all this work to an auto???

 

no 5 speed. but will the stage 3 axel and hub set up work from the 2.0 dohc to the 2.4 dohc tranny?? and the 3.94 has the shortfinal gearand the 3.95 has the tall final gear right??

 

im not sure if the 2.4 tranny will work with those axels or not...
the 3.94 tranny has a closer gear ratio and the 3,55 tranny has a more spread out gear ratio(better for turbo)
as for a 3.95.....i have no idea....

i only ask about the tranny cooler because of the 5-speed....what would you do with the tranny cooler????

 

you will need the stage 5 at least if you plan on getting serious... and when you put in the 2.6/2.7 its acually a stratus 2.4 that they punch out... so its not a srt motor... it will run just find on the neon computer or MS... as far as the transmission goes you just use the neon transmission it bolts right up...

 

sweet did not know that. and the tranny cooler well i plan to run this car at high speeds for long periods of time i want everything to stay cool. and D*** the stage 5 axles are 1700.00 any one have an idea what the stage 3 axles break at as far as hp? i have hopes and dreams of 750hp but will be happy with 500+ every time i think i found a good price and have a set up going you guys tell be theres better and the price doubles its cool though got to do it right the first time.

what motor mounts does the stratus use? the srt mounts or the neon??

 

they use a mix of mounts from the neon the stratus and a specially made one that you can find on modernperformace.com under the 2.4 swap section...

and wont have to use a tranny cooler with a mtx... just cryo the internalls of the tranny... its not that expensive right around 250...

honestly I wouldent go mtx... at all... Matt trip cant make it down the track more then 8 times with his cryo'ed 5 speed... however the atx with the performance valve and rebuild kit both cheap. under the cost of what it would cost you to run a mtx clutch with that power... but the atx will hold 1200 hp or so...

something to think about...

 

i really dont want to go atx beacuse the car will not reallybeused for 1/4 mile raceing maybe every once and a while but my plans arefor more... whats the right word so peopledont get mad. something like the woodware dreams cruise long distance driveing with other performance cars and show them what the neon is all about :P
