sucked some H2O!
Wow.
You seized the motor. Plan on doing a complete rebuild on her. As for taking her apart there is way too much information to type here. Honestly your best bet is to go to the dealer and pick up a Full Service Manual (FSM) from them. I'tll run you about $100 but it pays for itself in the long run. Definitely worth the money.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune though, I hope all goes well.
And, welcome to DF.

Just wondering how you did this? Did you drive through a lot of standing water? Sorry to hear about it though, good time to upgrade your engine though since you'll be taking it all apart.

Can anyone say 2.4?
Yeah, that would be real cool. If I blew my motor up I'd want to a 2.4 NA motor or the 2.4 srt motor. Either one would be sweet. The way my filter is right now I'd have to drive through like 1.5 feet of water to submerge it. In which case water would be coming into my car.
2.4? Most expensive way to run 15.3s EVER!
(i've had 2, w/o at least cams, it was a dissapointing experience. LOVED the tq though.)
But yeah, i'm with the guy above, plan on a whole rebuild. I bent a rod when i hydrolocked mine. Water doesn't compress. Don't even try to crank it w/o draining it. If you're LUCKY you might get away with this:
Pull out the plugs.
Crank the engine over a bunch of times to evacuate the water. .
Drain the oil.
replace with fresh oil.
Replace plugs.
Cross fingers and crank 'er over. You probably bent a rod or 2. If you're lucky the water compressing closed the valves, not bent them... but plan on a new motor ASAP. You might be able to drive it for a few days if you need to while you source a motor, but don't beat on it, or push it hard.

How did you hydro lock the motor? My CAI is at least 15" off the ground on my 98.

In my case, it was because I have an Iceman (sorry, had. Just went turbo) and the puddle i thoguth was ankle deep had a knee deep spot in it. Whoops. The iceman is 8 inches off the ground on a good day, and slurp.
