Default Overheating...new HG

hey guys...so I got a lil dilemma...my car has overheated a couple times over the year. I just did the thermostat a few days ago and found oil in my coolant. but theres no coolant in my engine oil. =\ so my first question is; how could that be? I mean usually doesntthe coolant **** into the engine oil?Second thing is my head has been machined from when the previous owner had it. So when I do the headgasket and if I need to machine it how much more canI machine it down to? and if I cant machine it I guess I'll go to the JY for another one. I'll be checkin the specs to see how flat my head is. but does anyone know how I could tell if its been machined down to the limit?
I've overheated my engine all the way to when the temp. gauge starts beepin. that can cause my head to warp rite?
BTW I got a MLS HG =] so hopefully no more overheating.

sorry for all the quesions. I just dont wanna mess this up. long story short I got the car for cheap a couple years bak and rebuilt the engine cause the connecting rod bearings were worn. changed ALL the gaskets and put the MLS HG in. I think maybe I didnt bleed the coolant good enuff =\ I dunno cause it ran fine for a while. I mean I had it for over a year. its jus recently that its beginnin to overheat alot. =(

Thanx for all your time

From the 1st Gen FAQ's....

Q: My neon is overheating...what should I check?

A: There are several reasons: bad fan relay, low coolant, defective radiator cap, clogged radiator, bad Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS), bad thermostat, radiator fans not working properly, headgasket leaking, radiator fins are damaged, and faulty water pump. When you did the headgasket, did you torque the bolts to proper specs? If there is oil in your coolant, it probably is a bad head gasket. If the radiator fan is kicking on, like it should, and you replaced thermostat..could also be clogged radiator. Do you have an automatic? Maybe the oilin your coolant is tranny fluid?

I'm not worried about wats causing my car to overheat, I already no its a headgasket. but its just weird because normally after driving and the coolant is under pressure wat would happen is the coolant starts to pour into the engine. I'm just curious about why theres no coolant in my engine oil but theres a ton of oil in my coolant. I also wanted to no how much you can machine the head to. I mean my cylinder head's been machined before, can I machine it again?

I did torque my bolts in properly, sequence and everything. I havea MTX
